What happened to discipline in schools. OK, I am old, but when I was in school, this boy would have been in the principal's office facing the paddle of suspension for this conduct. Sounds like the school is ignoring this bully hoping everything will resolve on its own and then are surprised when the girl refuses to be a victim... go figure.

One of the main problems with the education system, which chaps my ass something fierce, is the lack of action taken against bullies. Kids report actions by bullies and the schools usual answer is to say "We need to see the action take place before we can do anything." All the while the bullied kid keeps getting bullied and finally snaps and reacts violently. Then, what does the schools, parents, and media do? Focus NOT on the bully but on the kid(s) that snapped. If some boy were to do this to my daughters, I would APPLAUD my kids for decking the kid while sitting in the office of the principle and then inform the principle that I will be filing sexual harassment/assault charges against the boy and complaints/charges of culpability to the teacher, the principle and the school as a whole.

I can attest some school administrators just don't seem to get it. I had to deal with a vice principal at my first teaching position who handled discipline and he sucked at it. The kids played him with sad faces and said what he wanted to hear, but he never did anything even after some of those same kids would be in his office 4 or 5 times a month.
