I view this as the most immediate problem, we can not support our pilot needs today. And it takes years to become a fighter pilot.

AETC i s located here so I get a chance to interact with them. I will have to go back and find the article but one are the Air Force is looking to reduce the demand on Active Duty pilots is to contract out all aggressor squadrons. I think this is a great idea as it provides jobs for veterans and allows the Active Duty pilots more seat time in actual combat aircraft. The current policy has them flying different ariframes while they are in aggressor squadron. While that may be fun it does little to maintain tactical proficiency in my opinion.

LCDR (Join to see) Super article, and I never realized the corner the US Air Force was in. I knew all services were hog tied by the previous administration, but I did not know how bad it was. I loved the analogy of building a house but never finishing it and not not putting any furniture in in the new house because it was too expensive. Can you imagine a new Aircraft carrier with no equipment inside? I am not sure the article addressed a suitable solution.
