THe US being on a war footing on the Korean Peninsula wooed not bother the Chines at all.,. It might interfere with the huge tourist trade between South Korea and mainline China though.

The South Korean do not expect China top stop NK, nobody does but the US. In fact Americans seem to be more frighted by the Norks than South Korea, China or Japan. My wife watched both South Korean news and US news and says that the south is pretty calm and more nervous of irrational reaction from Washington than Pyongyang.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr That is legitimate point. Anything that takes the focus off politics as usual in DC is good for them, bad for us. I just think that lil kim is batshit crazy, the idea of a crazy person with unilateral control of nuclear weapons is disconcerting.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Batshit crazy men with control of nukes is nothing new. Mao and Stalin were far more murderously crazy with death toll larger than NKs population and we lived though them.

China has no intention of allowing the US to sell Billions in Arms to Taiwan.

SSG Edward Tilton pissed they may be, but the last thing we need is a trade war with China over North Korea. China losing access to the largest consumer economy in the world is bad for them. The U.S. losing low cost imports from China would be bad for us. I don't necessarily think it will come to that, but in the current global setting anything is possible.

SSG Edward Tilton - China has never done anything about it before and without going to war with us can do nothing about it this time. A trade war would destabilize China far more than it would hurt the US and the Chinese know it.
