The article says the M1s were in the possession of Iranians in 2015/16. When were they signed over to Iraq? And what have we done about it since then?

So the Iraqis GAVE the tanks they were supposed to pay us for to our enemies. How great is that! This kind of stupidity gets people killed

Bad but not all that bad because we gave the Iraqi's a much downgraded version of the M1 tank. Bad because now the Iranians will figure out a way to defeat the basic ceramic Armor but not all that bad because we didn't give them the reactive armor upgrades. The M1's the Iraqi's have are first generation or slightly less capable than first generation I read somewhere. Not the same M1 our Army is using.
