88M might be out of a job. I wonder if they can be operated by a driver from a remote location like UAVs.

Nice concept, but can it sense a crater, or large hole in the road in time to miss it?

The automation technology and "perfecting" its integration are coming, but I think we're a long way off from any sort of widespread, systematic use of autonomous trucking. Certainly in population centers and in combat conditions. But in the short term, I could see some limited use of the technology in lower density population areas, off road applications, etc. As you said though, the use of a remote driver might be a better solution; certainly until true autonomy is ready for full scale deployment.
