Does anybody remember during the Vietnam war. When an officer was forced to read a prepared speech in Hanoi. And he blinked that he was in duress.

I notice there is a poll running asking who was right or wrong. Many say the navy expert is right in his position. However, they were not prisoners of war, merely detainees for unauthorized entrance into Iranian territory. I'm sure if any other country entered our waters on accident or due to malfunction (with no other motives) they may apologize as well. He was definitely not wrong by making an apology.

Code of Conduct is for war, there are different policies for detention by a foreign government, the Navy Expert needs to retake his deployment SERE/Code of Conduct training.
