US soldier ambushed in Niger wasn't captured

The brave soldiers killed in Nigeria in October, 4 NCO's & SNCO's, were part of a 12 man special forces unit accompanying 30 Nigerian soldiers. All of the men fought back, and the evidence indicates Sgt. Johnson died of injuries sustained while fighting enemy forces. His remains somehow became separated from the main group; however, the athletic Sgt. Johnson had run to a fighting position away from the main group. Sgt Jay Jones COL Mikel J.
