The beginning portion of the audio is called "receiveing." That is the in-processing period before they get "picked up" by their Drill Instructor team. One difference between that period (based on the audio) and now is that recruits lose all sense of personal identity and will only speak in third person. Great share.

Another is I see now that there is a swearing in of the DIs that they say the oath to train but not abuse the recruits...ETC. Before it was your introduction to your DIs was when the bus pulled up they came on screaming to get the F off their bus and get on the footprints. From that point on you were theirs and knew it!
