USS Indianapolis: Survivor Accounts From the Worst Naval Disaster in U.S. History

This is the story of one of the greatest tragedies of WWII. If they would have had a destroyer escort as it should have, the loss would not have been so great. It’s sad the Captain wasn’t cleared immediately.

Can’t imagine the horror of this catastrophe. Watching you shipmates do under or being eaten by sharks. Waiting for your turn for days.
