Thank you my friend and sister-in-Christ PO3 Phyllis Maynard for posting the fact that there is a search ongoing for the descendants of Thomas D. Walker who served in the Pacific Theater during WWII where he was wounded in combat [awarded Purple Heart] and was awarded the Bronze Star for valor.
Based on the information provided it seems Thomas D. Walker was a soldier [based on the photograph].

I called the station out there and gave them the [login to see] VA National Call Center. I hope the VA can match information to their records and find the survivors.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard oftentimes it is the family who is selling these medals Phyllis. The veteran dies, the family has no interest in them. It’s sad.
