Since I am admittedly too lazy to read the full article, what benefit would this give retirees?

A1C Doug Towsley - Sorry I haven't encountered pop ups on the stripes.com website, but I will certainly be more careful in the future.

SSG Trevor S. - The ID card was for veterans that don't use the VA for their healthcare. If you use the VA for healthcare you already have an ID card and don't have to get a new one, if you want one to get benefits from companies that offer them to veterans, some need an ID card to prove they are veterans.

SPC Diana D. - I'm retired with a blue ID card and Tricare. So from what you just described I should just keep on truckin on because I'm covered either way. Thanks!
