The VA covers up a lot of unlawful actions done by their Administration. The VA couldn't cover up this whistleblowers stories, so they made him uncomfortable enough to quit. What a great group of professionals who don't give a crap about how we're treated. They just cover it up and POOF, it never happened.
Brian Smothers told The Associated Press Wednesday the VA had opened two separate inquiries into his actions and tried to get him to sign a statement saying he had broken VA rules. He said he refused.
Smothers also said the VA reassigned him to an office with no computer access, no significant duties and no social contact.
He called the VA's actions punitive and his working conditions intolerable. He said he resigned as of Tuesday.

Sad as it is, it happens in every administration and will continue to happen unless we hold those responsible accountable for their actions and deeds.

I know these types of incident do not happen everywhere; nonetheless, I am seriously considering paying for Tricare Prime after retirement. Soldiers and veterans should not have to wait for treatment that could potentially save their life. This is not the way to treat people. I really hope those making these decisions were not veterans.
