Before my father died, I spent good time chasing bad people who were constantly attempting to bilk him out of his meager "fortunes". Sadly, he was so deeply invested in their scams that he got angry with me for reporting them to police, district attorneys, and the Post Master General. He was convinced that Ed McMahon was about to arrive momentarily to whisk him away to NYC to collect his millions and party hardy. Now that I am a "senior citizen" they are coming after me. Fortunately, I have my father's experience to forewarn and armor me against their assaults. Take care of you parents, folks. The wolves are at their doors...

Jack, thank you for your wisdom in this as well. Saw your dad had to suffer losing money. I figure this is a nonce litical story I could post on Ali point and nobody can disagree on the need to be careful and did you want for fraudsters everywhere calling you up, emailing you or coming to your door.

CPT Jack Durish Nice to see someone thinks of their parents in that manner,CPT Jack.I get solicitors continuously trying to scam in one manner or another and like you,i am forewarned.

The phone scammers are out of control and almost every time the phone rings its one of those Rats! Its so bad You can't even relax at home without those parasites trying to take You in. My policy is no matter what You are selling or trying to pass off I will not deal with anyone ever that made their contact via the telephone. I have no interest in what they say they are collecting for or trying to sell and I will not respond ever to a telephone solicitation.
Before when these pest showed up a the door even my Mom would even let them get to the door, She made it plain She would not buy from door to door sales people ever. if they said they had free sample She would respond "I don't take free samples, leave right now and don't come back ever ! My parents (who are now in their 90s) and I are senior citizens You won't sell Your scams too and My kids also have that same response. I do not like these people who have the nerve to bother Me at My own house and have no respect for My privacy !

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter Same here,SMSgt, irritating calls and many around dinner time,interrupting my evening meal,at least i have caller id on my home phone and just pick up and return the phone to it's cradle,still irritating.
