At the time I never thought twice about it, but I do remember getting horrible headaches on heavy burn days. I also remember heading to the larger burn pit on Bagram to get rid of sensitive materials. Spending just a few minutes near those things left me feeling like garbage for hours afterward. There are TCNs working there though all day, every day. I can't imagine all the crap they breathed in while working there.

i was involved in duty that burnt "shit" in central america, and exposed to a burn pit in Iraq. other than a constant cough throughout the years, no one has ever asked me. doctors just assumed that i have allergies of some type...that's never been figured out either, and yet i still cough constantly. i would love someone to make my cough stop!
