I got this on behalf of Rep. Moulton's office and thought I'd share. I heard Mr. Junger this summer and the concept of a "Veterans Town Hall" as a mechanism to both integrate veterans back into their home communities and help those residents understand the experiences of their neighbors is a good one.
"As most of you know, we held a Veterans Town Hall event with Sebastian Junger in Marblehead last year. Several hundred local residents turned out to hear the unique stories of nearly two dozen veterans. These community forums establish greater understanding between local veterans and the friends and neighbors they served. These veterans represented every branch of the military and every military conflict dating back to World War II.
"Seth has described it as “the most meaningful thing he has done as a member of Congress.” We are hosting our event this year again in Abot Hall in Marblehead on Veterans Day. Our office is currently recruiting veterans to speak at our Town Hall event, and I am writing to ask if you know any veterans in your communities who may be interested in speaking. We are working hard to get as diverse a group of speakers as possible – please let me know if anyone comes to mind."
If you know of anyone local who would want to speak this year, please contact Dennis Magnasco at [login to see] .gov
