The VFW didn't ask me for my opinion. I don't agree with them. The VA can't be "fixed". It's a bureaucracy and what you see is what you get when you let bureaucrats manage anything. I'd rather see private health insurance for veterans, BUT I don't expect that will be of any help either unless the rubes in the District of Calamity get out of the business of micromanaging private healthcare insurance providers. One other thing, I'd also like to see the military medical services take care of all service members who suffer injuries and disabilities until they are either healed or die. Just because a service member is released from active duty or discharged, the military is not discharged from its duty to care for those wounded or injured while serving. There should be no separate health care system for active duty persons and veterans until members are returned to civilian life whole.
