PO1 Tony Holland I have said it before Alzheimer's Disease is the worst way for a person to go. Two deaths. First the spirit dies, leaving the shell of the person they used to be. Then days, weeks, months, or even years later, the shell finally dies. The family suffers first the loss of who their loved one was, then the physical loss of their loved one. I wish peace on the family, and (while it may sound morbid) a quick passing for Mr. Silk so that the suffering can be reduced for all.

Not to be a jerk. ALS is much worse. And so is brain cancer. I work in hospice as Chaplain and see all of this. I would much rather have Alzheimer's any day overcthose two.

Great story. I work in as a hospice chaplain and as a vet we are part of we honor vets program. And doing these certificates with vets is awesome.
