Sgt David G Duchesneau roger that, I like to see the beginning and end from a yearly perspective. I can therefore see the whole spectrum and learn from it.

Thanks for sharing a very informative timeline SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I am glad to see that it includes the fact that the US Military Assistance Advisor Group (MAAG) assumes responsibility, from French, for training South Vietnamese forces in 1956. That was the year I was born.
One thing about timelines is that those of us who lived f=during the years are more attuned to the blood, sweat and tears that occurred on various entries in the timeline.

LTC Stephen F. roger that, very detailed timeline, it looks like 1956 was an instrumental year in the timeline. Thanks for letting me know your birth year. You are blessed to be your age and know I appreciate your dialogue. Sweet indeed!

Agreed, I was born in 1944, so I lived through WWII & Korea, served boots on the ground in a Communications Van in the DMZ in Vietnam as well as on the USS Enterprise on Yankee Station (totaled 7 campaigns Vietnam Service), made half a dozen deterrent patrols on Ballistic Missile Submarines and have lived through every war, campaign or action since then. We truly have been at war virtually all our lives.
