I've bought, sold and traded a number of fraternal and military swords over the years. Nothing spectacular, but it's fun when I get the chance. This would be a keeper!! Thanks for the post, Wayne.

Really nice piece of history.

I captured my little piece of history not by anything as impressive as this artifact. But, I collected the Hollywood version, Duncan McCloud, the Highlander, McCloud sword, katana, dagger, lots of other stuff, and Adrian Paul's autograph on every item.

OK, just a little lame :)

Sexist! Females of the Samurai class didn't carry the swords, but knew how to use them! I have heard that masters at fencing lifts give reduced rates for women...

Go for it!

You know, I think I will make some inquiries. Truly, I want to take fencing as a hobby. Elizabeth Gracen and Joan Jet's characters really set a charge in me to learn to fence.

Right now, I just look at the swords and scabbards.

Thank you for the interesting article about the sword. Saw this earlier on an Archaeology site.
