I'm still not sure how this works when federal law trumps state law. So how can it be legal just because a state says it is?

I guess we will find out. It seems like Congress wants to pass a law that says if the state says it is okay, it is?

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Or they could simply change federal law and be done with. Grow it, sell it and tax it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I am not a proponent of illegal substances so I have never smoked it in my life. I am on NORCO (an opioid) for the rest of my life. I would far prefer to treat the pain naturally than with these synthesized meds. Come on Alabama! Lets get this legalized.

You have my sympathies MSgt Stephen Council . I weaned myself off of opioids 10 days after surgery (they said, don't rush but...I don't like them). It would be nice to have another alternative I think. I have never tried mj or any other illegal substance.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I have constant back pain and two surgeries in two years did little to help. I am down to pain management and I hate it. I have read a lot of literature and understand that the edible forms of cannabis have very promising results in helping with chronic (pardon the pun) pain. I was a recruited runner in high school so I never tried it. I then joined the USAF at 17 (I graduated HS early) and was on active duty nearly six months before I turned 18. When I retired, I went to work in Missile Defense. I have been subject to random urinalysis for my entire adult life. So, as things stand now, the federal government would rather I be part of their so called: opioid epidemic" than let me try a natural way of controlling it...
