I had an interesting day. What a day. I was fasting for a blood draw so I was rather hungry. I took what I thought would be a shortcut to the VA hospital but the street dead ended. I get lost big time. My anxiety shot up big time.
I get to the big VA hospital and go in to enter, but that enterance is closed due to COVID-19 procedures. The lab had a hard time drawing blood so I got stuck a few times. Then they told me I had to pee in a bottle. Well crap I had peed before leaving the house. I had contemplating cheating by putting water in the urine. I had to focus really hard to pee enough for a valid sample which I accomplished.
I decide to go to Popeyes to get some chicken. I gave them an order for spicy fried chicken. They said do you want chicken tenders. I said no I want spicy chicken. We were both getting frustrated. I was in no mood for this crap. I just want my fucking spicy chicken! The girl said we don't have chicken but Popeyes does. I realize I am at Arbys. I can be so stupid sometimes. lol

GySgt Dawson Webb - I felt so badass and adventurous when I took that short cut. I think I did a 360 over several blocks to figure out where I should go. I was really questioning my sense of direction. I think the 360 allowed me to hit a street I was familiar with. I was really frazzled by the time I got to the VA.

I feel for the veteran, but don't agree with his having to all but walk with a sandwich board to explain to people about his condition which is none of their freaking business.

I'm in the somewhat same boat as physical and other reasons exist. I took a load of shrapnel in the chest and lost 25% of chest wall muscle on one side along with scarred pleural lining and shrapnel still in the lung today. I makes me concentrate on my breathing as muscles to expel the CO2 and get air in is not all there. If I even have the bedsheet fall over my nose and mouth for even a few minutes I end up short of breath gasping for air. As a cherry topping for the physical damage I ended up stuck in a ditch from about 1pm till nightfall about 8pm struggling greatly to breathe with only one working lung and blowing bloody air bubbles. As a reminder for me if I have any instance of shortness of breath or feel I am not getting enough air I get taken back to that moment in that ditch in my head in a heartbeat. I really really hate that place.

So, I don't wear a mask and haven't had negative contact like the vet in the article. But, I will not wear a sign, will not explain my inability to mask up any further than "I can't wear one for physical reasons". If someone ever wants to push it past that point, they better just keep their social distance to feel safe from my presence or call some reinforcements.

At 70 years young I do not suffer busybody fools.
