The Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial is located on a 12-acre site at Randy Poynter Lake in Rockdale County. This serene setting provides the perfect backdrop for visitors to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city to remember, reflect and rejoice as well as foster a common understanding of the sacrifices and uncommon dedication of veterans and their families. A visit to the park will etch in the minds of the future leaders that freedom comes at a price, including the ultimate sacrifice of laying down one's life.
The Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial is a monument in the making. While the memorial has begun, there is still much to be accomplished. You can be a part of the process and help build the dream. Make a tax-exempt donation to the The Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial Foundation and/or purchase an engraved stone paver for the veteran in your life to be placed on the Walk of Heroes.
We suggest that you first watch the introductory video to understand the concept and ideas behind the development of the memorial. Then watch the virtual 3D fly through of the memorial as it will appear when finally completed. Review the project timeline and funding requirements. Finally take a 'walk' through a 3D version of the memorial with the 3D Master Plan Tour.
