This is an informative article on two Gettysburg women whose homes were used as headquarters for both the Southern and Northern armies. The descriptions of their economic situations was of particular interest to me.

Great article and pretty sure we were in the house used as a visitor center during a family trip to Gettysburg in early 80s.
