More importantly, is this a legitimate question or just another political attempt to influence the 2020 presidential election? I suspect the latter. If we weren't so damn timid and accepted the fact that a state of war exists, killing an Iranian military leader would be the moral and legal equivalent of shooting down Admiral Yamamoto's plane during WWII. Sadly, we are timid and the President's enemies will continue to use this and every opportunity to undermine his chances of reelection, especially since they have no viable candidate of their own

To me yes. If you mess with the US, be prepared to pay the price. Through our nations history, we have not shied away from prosecuting evil in this world.

Mumar Khadffy was a General and he wore all kinds of uniforms and decorations to prove it. Thought we bombed his tent.....didn't we? I still remember him standing in front of that stupid tent that was by then ripped to shreds. General Solemni was different because of the beard and cool sun glasses.

He is not a head of state. He was also in Iraq, not Iran, violating a UN travel ban/sanction against him for traveling outside of Iran. He has been deemed the head of a terrorist organization and is a legitimate military target. He has been actively fomenting violence against US (and other countries) and got caught with his hand in the cookie jar some place he should not have been.

His presence in another country seems to be all but missed by the media. Few seen to understand the dynamics that Iran is a Shia state with one of its leaders in Iraq, also a primary Shia country that Iran wants to be Iran #2.

MAJ Byron Oyler - All of those details are lost by most in the press and far too many on a site that caters to military members and veterans.
