PO1 Tony Holland - Wow! EPIC time-lapse. Thanks for sharing.
The Sahara, Empty Quarter of Arabia, and Kalahari in South Africa, really stand out not only because of no cloud cover but because of the sand. Australia's outback too. Africa really stands out as a focal point because of that, but also because it is such a huge continent. As the center of Pangea from which the other continents rifted, it becomes clear that the north/south expanse of Pangea must have been from pole to pole which I did not realize, previously. It is also interesting to observe how the tilt of the earth changes. It is obvious because of the very visible Sahara as it moves north for a while during the year. North America is so far north it is not easy to see it. What is strange is how round earth is. It is known to not be perfectly round. Perhaps the distance is far enough to round it out?
