Capt Dwayne Conyers: DWB, DWI, DWH/L/M. Pretextual stops that we've been fighting in court for decades. When I practiced criminal defense it was almost always a bad stop if the cops pulled over my client for whatever. During a deposition of a BP officer, I specifically asked what his reason was for pulling over my client...he didn't look at me. Then I pulled out the BP officer's previous depositions from other cases (thank you fellow criminal defense attorneys!!). Pulled over for looking at the BP car, pulled over for not looking at the BP car, pulled over for looking in the rear view mirror after passing BP car, pulled over for not looking in the rear view mirror after passing BP car, etc. It never fucking ends.
