If you have millions of immigrants, your going to have more crime. More people, more crime... and if you come from a society where crime is (compared to most other countries) extremely low, then the risk of becoming a victim of those crimes goes up as well.

That said, Germany is responding to a massive humanitarian crisis that we are comfortable ignoring... crime rates are still lower than what we consider normal here in the US and millions of people are safe and secure because of the initiative Germany has taken.
