It is quite amazing to me the long slender rocket like that could actually land upside down without tipping over or crashing. It would seem a lot safer and easier to settle on wheels or a parachute.

Agree less fuel = larger payload. However considering its a Mars landing with a 1% as dense atmosphere and that the earlier ringsail parachute failure coming up with some sort of supersonic braking system not a bad plan. However I'd like to see this in 60 mph wind - Mar's top recorded wind speed.
