So the premise is that minority groups suffer more from covid-19 because of a "slaveholders mentality". Never mind the hardest hit states are New York, New Jersey, and Michigan - as Union as it gets. New York's baseball team is the Yankees, for Christ's sake. Never mind the damn Civil War was EIGHT GENERATIONS ago.
It couldn't possibly be that minority folks tend to live in higher density housing - much of which is built in policies espoused by the left - the very representatives that minorities have been voting for overwhelmingly for 50 years.
These demonstrations that are being demonized by the left (irony) are pretty specific in nature. For example, in Virginia, the governor (who not that long ago was the subject of derision for his blackface pictures) and slim majority in the state legislature have taken the opportunity to pass dozens of controversial laws. The protesters were particularly upset about gun regulations being enacted.
Last I checked, the First Amendment was not repealed.

Everything isn’t about slavery. After America became independent Slavery lasted less than 100 years. There were anti slavery movement prior to America becoming a nation. I think the analogy is very weak. I am choosing to social distance as much as possible, but that is my choice.. I don’t think encouraging citizens to spy on each other is a good government plan, I think the NAZI encorperated that tactic as have most tyrannical governments. I don’t think politicians encouraging people to shelter at home under penalty of criminal prosecution then their family members are cavorting around at horse shows, golfing etc which is not leadership, it is tyranny. Either we are in this together or we have a ruling elite above the depredations they inflict on the people. The reporting on the consequences of unemployment and social isolation are lacking. We do know studies indicate unemployed people have a 2 to 3 times higher suicide rate. Unemployed people have higher drug and alcohol abuse with increased overdose deaths compared to employed people. DUI’ and the problems of DUI increases among the unemployed. We also know social isolation and stress of unemployment lead to increased child and spouse abuse. There also seems to be a problem with the reporting of deaths from Covid 19. The deaths may not be as high as reported and infections rates appear to be much higher than reported. So, we need , in my opinion, a balance that is entirely lacking.
