Good evening Rally Point denizens. Veterans, Active Duty, all duty status' actually. The pet owner is responsible for finances when away (VA, deployment, training) but you know your pet is safe & will welcome you home. DoD Emma spent a year bounding and bouncing in Washington State while mom was in Afghanistan.

The couple (she Marine, he Navy) have pets and knew that a fair amount of troops deploying or going to training etc felt like they had no other choice but to give up their pet(s). Especially if single with no one (or not trustworthy) to care for the pet while they were away.
