I can't even put my anger about this into words.
It doesn't matter what political stripe you follow. This is shameful no matter how you look at it.
Is this a sign of times, a natural outcome to how hyper-partisan our politics have gotten?

This is reprehensible. Beyond words. However, blaming politics is the same as blaming guns or cars or knives or hammers for crimes against a person. To blame any of these things is to mitigate the guilt of the criminal. It was an assault committed by a dirt bag.

CPT Jack Durish Although I agree with most of what you said I differ in the fact that you CAN blame the political leaders. They have made it ok for dirt bags to do these kinds of things. There words do have an impact

Because they have no respect or fear of the law. Our political leaders have made it clear you don't have to follow the law. I think that's why liberals hate hand guns so much. Because we will be able to defend ourselves and not need big government.

PO2 Mark Saffell Yeah if he had used a firearm in this crime, that would have been disastrous for anyone who supports our second amendment rights.
