One thing is perfectly clear. President Trump knows full well who he is dealing with and Kim doesn't have a clue. In the past, North Korea need only throw a tantrum and like indulgent parents, past American Presidents have given him a shiny new toy to play with to placate the unruly child and make him shut up. This President has practiced tough love and the child is confused. Also, if all Kim know of President Trump is what he reads in the papers and hears on CNN, he is definitely lost in the fog. These sources had demeaned and derided President Trump at every turn. If I'm correct, Kim is in for a shock. If President Trump possesses only enough brain function to walk into the meeting room and sit upright without assistance, Kim will be shocked. As for optics, they will be whatever propaganda the American press is willing to publish and broadcast to embarrass the President (and don't expect them to temper their vitriol for the sake of America - they have no love of America, the nation they are determined to change fundamentally). Homework? What homework? You mean the same kind of diplomatic shenanigans that gave nuclear reactors to North Korea in exchange for empty promises? No. There is no homework needed. No negotiations. I hope and pray that President Trump has just one goal: Deliver a message, a very strong message, then leave. Clarity? What clarity? The clarity of the Left. Don't want any parts of that. Clarity is a simple message, one that can't be misconstrued: If your people choose to live as slaves to your whims, that is their problem. But the rest of the world, especially your cousins to the south and the United States want no part of it. No more games. Now go back and sit in your room and play quietly with your toys. Bother us at your own peril...

Interesting to note that this is what has been done by multiple administrations over past years so ineffectively. AND, suggested by the last administration.

“Port-of-Spain, Trinidad (AP) – Defending his brand of world politics, President Barack Obama said Sunday that he "strengthens our hand" by reaching out to enemies of the United States and making sure that the nation is a leader, not a lecturer, of democracy.”

Oh Dear Lord! Clinton and Madeline Albright negotiated the Agreement that Clinton said was going to garuantee that North Korea would never get nukes. Obama kicked the can down the road and hide the fact North Korea had minturized nukes. Trump has North Korea’s attention and has the possibility of moving the ball forward. Of course there are risks but could he do worse than Clinton or Obama? The other thing is North Korea is broke!
