I wonder. My wife is Navajo. As far as she knows her family has always lived in the Arizona area. And yet, when she had a DNA test done for fun, it shows she has some Central and South American links.
So, since all of the western hemisphere in "America" why would those indigenous to the rest of the hemisphere also be "Native American?"
They are all related.
