Maintenance I would suspect killed as many if not more. German tanks were overly complicated, and used the same drive train in most of their tanks. The allied using gas powered plane motors were prone to failure.

Keep in mind for every tank knocked out how many returned to the rear and were repaired and returned to the battlefield.
