What motivated Joe Biden to run for president

I watched a Joe Biden ad today that brought something to the forefront of my mind. The ad claim Trump said “ there were good people on both sides of the VIOLENT groups in Charlottesville. That Trump said the good people on both sides of the violence has been debunked more often than Biden’s story about his uncle being eaten by cannibals. So my point s Biden is SUPPOSED to be the studied honest leader we can trust. Biden still repeats the lie about Charlottesville. How can Joe Biden keep getting something so basic so wrong? Why didn’t NPR correct the record? If Joe Biden can be so wrong about this how can he get ANYTHING correct. If Joe Biden would use this lie to mislead America what else is he lying about? What about NPR as a reliable news source?
