"It started out innocently enough: lazy Monday, working late, nothing in the fridge. I decided to splurge and order a burger and fries for delivery.
Subtotal for my meal? $14.07. A little pricey, but it's a good burger and $14 seemed like a totally acceptable price for dinner, especially when it's delivered to my door.
Then came the fees:
Delivery fee: $5.49
Service fee: $3
Tip: $4
Tax: $1.25
Grand total for my delivery burger: $27.81
My lazy Monday went from costing me $14 to almost $30. The price had doubled. What was going on?"

And they wonder why no one is coming to eat in their restaurants. PO1 William "Chip" Nagel This is corporate greed and the waitresses, cooks and other support labor at restaurants are losing out and losing their jobs. It’s discouraging to those who are trying to work,

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I'd have to be in one desperate way before I would pay for delivery of a meal at those prices. We don't eat out often anyways because of the prices at restaurants. Hell, it cost over ten bucks a person at McDonalds any longer for tasteless and most of the time cold food!

We have a Marcos Pizza around the corner so when we get a pizza urge we order the pizza and I do the door dash. There is a Chinese restaurant about a mile away, same deal, I do the door dash. There is a nice Caribbean themed restaurant we can walk too. We mostly eat out when we travel. Food prices have gone up 16 to over 20% , fuel prices are up so prices at restaurants have had to go up.
