Rare but good advice for once from Huff Post. I invest in individual stocks vs mutual funds as the entire portfolio acts as a diversified mutual fund. Regardless, best to stay invested in stocks or mutual funds and ride this one out. Dividend reinvestment set to invest back in same stocks that produce dividends. Most people should see a pretty nice increase if they follow this advice over the next year and I think this dip in the market and rise that is to follow is going to push a LOT of people closer to their retirement goals.......just if they do nothing and ride it out. I invested my IRS Refund and any available cash into GE Stock after the most recent crash. GE Stock has a ways to recover (years to recover yet) but I think in 2-3 years the 700-800 shares I bought will be be a nice boost in overall portfolio value. GE will probably double in value in about the next 12-15 months.
