When Transitioning, You Still Need to "Embrace the Suck"

Great article sir. Setting goals based on good plans helps with transition, along with planning for the unexpected. Staying very busy with solid goals helped with my transition to civilian life. My transition to retirement was not as easy. Even though I knew that the Space Shuttle Program was ending, it still hit me like a brick wall. I had a very intense career, that when it ended, I was out of sorts for years because I was not as mentally prepared as I should have been.
