When Your Drill Sergeant Is Latino!

when I went to basic I did not know they had races other than US Army. My question is why does the drill have a beard? hahaha

I had a Plt Sgt that was five foot nothing from El Salvador. He was hard as nails and spoke perfect English with an almost no detectable accent (Wealthy family, attended High School and College in the US). But when he was disciplining Marines, he was absolutely unintelligible, and I am fluent in Spanish.

Because he was so short, He would hop up and down to get "eye to eye" with whoever he was dressing down. As long as you weren't his target it was hilarious to watch.

I asked him why his accent got so strong and why even the native Spanish speakers couldn't understand him when he was in ass-chewing mode. His only response was "Because I can make my point and have some fun at the same time." He winked and wouldn't talk anymore about it.

Black, white, Asian, Latino. It matters not. A Drill Sergeant is a Drill Sergeant. In fact I understood this one better than most.
