Thanks for sharing an intriguing title CH (COL) Geoff Bailey.
As somebody who was assign to one of the basements of the Pentagon for a time both before and after 9-11-2001 I can testify that sometime the basement assignments are blessings. I expect those who work in the basements of the White House would feel similarly.
As soldiers we learned to do our best wherever we were assigned because we generally recognized that each individual service member contributed to the accomplishment of many missions.
As a believer in God through the atonement of the Christ I recognize that God raises up and God raises down at seasons in our lives and walk with God for HIS purposes. HE knows best and knows what the events we are involved with now will help propel for the future.

CH (COL) Geoff Bailey my goodness a solid read and share, thanks for the interesting read/share!
Throughout a career in the military, almost everyone takes on assignments and positions that negatively impact our outlook on continued service. While lying in bed at night, we question whether or not we made the right career decision, and when we wake up, we dread the drive onto base. Some of these assignments even lead to negative experiences where we fall flat on our face, time and time again. The key thing to remember in these assignments is that we have a choice. Whether it’s working for a toxic leader or spending time in a job that isn’t a great match for our skill sets, we choose the outcome of these experiences. They can either devastate us or develop us.

Solid advice. I was fortunate as a young adult to learn and embrace the adage:

Our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by how we react to what happens, not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark that creates extraordinary results.

There is always a silver lining if choose to look. The hard part is reminding your self in the midst of turmoil.
