PO1 William "Chip" Nagel: Huge issue here in Arizona, especially in the border towns that rely on that trade to survive. We have a huge vegetable/fruit import area in Nogales and they are looking at putting in some manufacturing plants down in Douglas. All prices on imported vegetables/fruits are fixed on a weekly basis (i.e. this week's prices were actually fixed by trade agreements over a month ago) and now there is the added costs of the tariffs, so prices can't be renegotiated. Arizona's state legislators are not happy about this as the import/export business with Mexico is huge for our economy.
