White House says Obama wants fair reviews of California National Guard bonuses

LOS ANGELES — The White House says President Obama has told the Defense Department that it must ensure service members instructed to repay enlistment bonuses are being treated fairly and expeditiously.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest says the president only recently become aware of Pentagon demands that some soldiers repay their enlistment bonuses after audits revealed overpayments by the California National Guard. If soldiers refuse, they could face interest charges, wage garnishments and tax liens.
Earnest says he did not believe the president was prepared to support a blanket waiver of those repayments, but he said "we're not going to nickel and dime" service members when they get back from serving the country. He says they should not be held responsible for fraud perpetrated by others.

He should suspend all repayment requests until the Executive Branch conducts a proper audit on this program to find out who is at fault and where. Very simple.

Making a pay mistake happens the truly sad part of this is they made a promise to pay these soldiers the soldiers upheld their part now 10years later you want to say oops that bird don't fly this is one case where Obama could actually do something good with his executive order so Mr lame duck President quit campaigning for Hillary for 2 minutes and do right by these troops and since they were paid by tax payer dollars I one of the taxpayers forgive their debt
