Who are the 29 Republicans who voted in favor of the gun safety bill? And why?

My comment, "The Gun Safety Bill is now law. (a.k.a. Bipartisan Safer Communities Act) It includes money for school safety, mental health, state crisis intervention programs, and incentives for states to include juvenile records in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, which would provide a more comprehensive background check for those between the ages of 18 and 21 who want to buy guns.
$750 million dollars - This piece of the money pie can be used to implement and manage red flag programs, which are aimed at keeping guns out of the hands of those who pose a threat to themselves or others. The bill designates the Feds to pick and choose who gets the money.
The red flag rules are filled with ambiguity and room for interpretation. They do allow the right to be represented by counsel at no expense to the government. This will allow the accused to go broke as counsel will not be provided if you can not afford one. At first read, it brings more power to the Feds and less to "we the people" when looking at the red flag language. The red flag rules as written are a direct attack on the 2nd amendment.
What is most disturbing is the Republicans that joined this version of the gun safety law without addressing the red flag laws. The Senate advanced the legislation in a 64-34 vote, roughly two hours after a bipartisan group of senators released the bill text. Fourteen Republicans joined all 50 Democrats in backing the bill.
In other words, time was not taken to read the final changes inserted into the bill before it was passed.
This is our legislative representative working for We the People - Not!"

The red flag laws are going to be interesting. I favor them but not sure how they will work out.

Nothing is without controversy but on the whole they've worked well here in Florida.

Our legislative representatives stopped working for We the People a long time ago but in this case they did listen to what the majority, including many gun owners, wanted as opposed to their donors and PACs.

Many gun owners I know in West Central PA also supported these measures to reduce some of the criminals who use them illegally.

SSgt Richard Kensinger Exactly but the money behind donations doesn't want to recognize that, so neither will our politicians.
