An up and coming young politician who apparently connects more with young voters and has these older, long serving politicians worried that there will be more of them in future primaries. They should be worried.

She may connect with young voters because she is a good looking lady but she will get pushed back by many once they find out what taxes she wants to add to their price of electricity, natural gas and gasoline. On the other hand, in Alberta Canada, we have a Democratic Socialist who is also the premier or governor of Alberta. She tried getting social license to use carbon taxes to push forward with Pipelines. The courts have stopped the pipelines and the prime minister is not going to push the issue so she is saying screw this! I'm not going to pay carbon taxes if I can't sell my oil! So we have a socialist here in my province in Canada who thinks with a business mindset and not like Bernie Sanders and the green party people and possibly ocasio-cortez. Canada is the test bed for Liberal ideas and it is not working!

LTC (Join to see) So your argument is AOC wants to tax the hell out of people in order to pay for federal programs while conservatives like Paul Ryan want to tax the hell out of middle class Americans in order to allow large corporations (not small businesses), their executives and major shareholders to benefit financially. There’s a reason GOP stopped campaigning on the tax bill cause they saw how unpopular their economic policies were.
If I had to choose paying taxes that pay into programs that benefit majority of Americans or paying taxes that benefit the wealthy, privileged minority, I know what my choice would be.
So instead of complaining about paying more taxes and demand to know what those taxes are paying for, who benefits, and whose not paying. If you don’t pay your fair share (based on your income) then you shouldn’t have access to public services. Just my opinion.
By the way, couldn’t read article. Had no interest signing up for membership.

LTC (Join to see) We shall see but my gut tells me the Progressives that were elected into office recently will be stubborn but will also negotiate within reason that benefits their constituents and not big donors. Something that Corporate Dems, Establishment Republicans, and Tea Party Republicans have shown the last 8 years how they are incapable of supporting any initiatives that don’t benefit big money donors. And if any of those Progressive candidates start to cower to the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer then we could very well see a demand for a new major party. Time will tell.
