We were meant to be omnivores imo. Our bigger problem is that we eat too much food and too much processed food.

Lt Col Charlie Brown you are on the nose with this one. If you look at the structure of the human jaw, we have teeth designed to pierce and tear, as well as teeth to grind, and this isn't by accident. Our ancestors ate to survive, we live to eat. If you look at portion sizes today compared to say 50/60 years ago, they have gotten larger... much larger. Even in fast food, what was once a medium is now a small or even a kids drink. We are also lead by popular culture to "avoid certain foods" or "eat more of this food"... that isn't even touching the level of processing that goes on even for "healthy" choices. Bottom line, until we start teaching proper nutrition, and stop going off of an antiquated "2000 calorie per day" measure... we are not going to see an end to the number of endocrine/nutritional issues we have.
