Get used to it, huge numbers of plants and animals are going extinct at a rate faster we can track.
I think the armadillo crossed the road to get to the other side. It was a bad neighborhood. Guys were calling him ankylosaur, which is like calling a person an Neanderthal. Ankylosaurs were reptiles with a similar body type and armament, and they were dying out in South America when the grand daddies of armadillos were around.
