Why Do Military Members Qualify for Food Stamps?

SSgt Harvey "Skip" Porter I qualified for food stamps as a young E4. The state made us apply for them before my wife could receive WIC benefits. I used them once, and was so very embarrassed that I never used them again. I simply tore them up and threw them away. I worked second jobs and did whatever I had to do to support and feed my family. If more Americans had that kind of pride, a lot less of our tax dollars would be available for useful programs...
