I was over the road for 15 years. Tanker and hazmat endorsements.
I left the industry because I was never home.
My kids call their stepdad "dad" and me their father, Kasey. That's F'ed up!

I made 70k a year, but I never got to enjoy it.
Three weeks gone 34 off
Of that 34 off
4 hours travel from and back to the truck.
16 hours of sleep
4 hours for laundry and supply restock.
Which leaves just 10 hours of off time with family and friends before I am expected to be freshly rested so I can safely drive for 11 hours and be on duty for 14 hours.

I would not go back to trucking for 200K per year.

Society treats truckers as low life scumbags and God forbid you try to park your truck to get some food someplace besides a truck stop. People will treat you like you are trying to abduct their children.

Cops.... As a hazmat tanker driver I might as well paint a target on the truck.
Also while on the subject of cops did you know that Warning tickets count against your CSA score and since it's a warning their is no fighting it in court! Think I am making that up? Please check it out yourself.

And people think there is a driver shortage. Fix the respect issues and 50%of problems vanish
