Why Leadership Training Fails—and What to Do About It

Good stuff... changing leadership styles is always very tough. Despite training and education, many leaders fall back on old habits.

Leadership is very complex and not something that can be easily put into cookie cutter corporate solutions and PowerPoint classes. Real leadership starts with morals, values, bedrock honesty and character. Corporate leaders often fail because they lose their way with the bedrock values. The services stress the moral code and build their leadership programs on bedrock values. The services also use the time proven leadership model of “fives”. Every leader basically leads five other people starting with the fire team, then squads, platoons, companies, battalions, brigades and Divisions. Corporations often fail because they try to manage and lead from the top when the bottom up approach is much more effective. Just my thoughts.
