So one groups water is more important that another groups water? The "reroute" has infrastructure that is already in place like railroads. With the amount of land this country took from the Native American's unless I think they should be respected in their request unless there is something that seriously makes sense to disturb their sacred land. I couldn't tear up a graveyard if someone paid me. It's sacred to someone and sacred to me. Maybe if they made an honest split with both parties present and the decision not already made in advance, we could get somewhere. This kinda reminds me of the Flint water issue; was the water tests done yes. What did they show? The water is so bad that Iraqi's won't touch it. Well good, since this is going to hit the poorest parts of Flint and no one would bother caring for some poor black and white folks. Problem is someone did, and those responsible are not in jail. Just make an honest attempt to talk, get experts who have no ties to either side, and let's go. Maybe there could be jobs for the Native Americans that could help offset the pain and give them a better quality of living than they already do. They are a proud people, who've been through a lot and most of it bad, time to give them the American Dream, and not through the use of reservations, a few rules that give them the appearance someone cares, or a long trail that took the lives of thousands. They have the ONLY code that has never been broken then, and if we needed them now, I still doubt it would be broken.
